2021 Salvation Army Angel Tree Program

A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE TO THE
CONTACTLESS SHOPPING
ANGEL TREE PROGRAM

ALL ANGELS HAVE BEEN ADOPTED!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOVE AND SUPPORT!

NO NEED TO SIGN UP!
ALL ANGELS HAVE BEEN ADOPTED!

This year we will be using contactless shopping for our Christmas gift purchases. We have 40 angels from the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program available for adoption. All gifts will be purchased by you, online or in person, at the stores of your choice, such as Amazon, Target, Walmart, Kohl’s, etc. Then, you will ship those gifts from the store where purchased, directly to the Salvation Army’s warehouse in Hyattsville (shipping information below). If you choose to shop in person, you are responsible for packing and shipping the gifts to the warehouse on your own.

No presents can be brought to the church.

All gifts must be NEW. You are encouraged to purchase at least 3 toys (2 from the child’s wish list) and two articles of clothing. Sponsors typically spend $90 or more, so you might want to think about joining with another family to purchase the gifts. It sounds like there may be shopping issues with gifts this year, so shop early, and do your best.

The sign-up sheet has all the information you need to shop:
a specific child’s ID number, first name, age, gender, clothing sizes, and wish items.

How the shopping and shipping works:

  1. CONTACTLESS SHOPPING:
Gifts will be sent DIRECTLY BY YOU to the warehouse between November 1 and December 3.
DO NOT wrap gifts. You can shop online & ship directly to the warehouse. It’s best for them to arrive in one shipment, but if you are sending from more than one store, please make sure each shipment is labeled correctly.

  2. Gifts must arrive no later than December 3, and cannot be accepted before November 1.

  3. CONTACTLESS SHIPPING:

Choose “Ship packages together” option if possible.
Choose “This address is a business” option to ensure weekday delivery
Phone number: use: 202-497-3910, if you are asked (e.g. Amazon) in case of delivery problems.
The warehouse will be open for deliveries Nov. 1- Dec. 3, weekdays only
Remember: No deliveries before November 1!

  4. SHIPPING LABEL FORMAT:

Angel Name and ID # (example Joe NCAC1501A)
5160 Lawrence Place
Hyattsville, MD 20781

The Angel Name and ID# is on the sign-up sheet.
Please make sure you include this information on the shipping label.

DO NOT BRING ANY GIFTS TO THE CHURCH – they must be shipped to the warehouse.

Now that you have read the information above, if you wish you adopt a child, please sign up here to select the child you wish to adopt.

Add your contact information into the blue columns to indicate you will be shopping for that child. Use the scroll bar at the bottom of the spreadsheet to scroll over all the columns from F-P to get all the information you need to shop for the child you wish to adopt.

There are other opportunities to help with sorting and wrapping gifts. If you are interested, go to the Salvation Army Angel Tree website and sign up to volunteer. In 2020, The Salvation Army helped 11,069 children in the National Capital Area to have presents to open on Christmas morning. Thank you for your support of the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program.
