An Opportunity to explore the meaning of Life
Alpha
Thursday Nights 7 – 9 pm starting September 14th
What's involved? Over ten thought-provoking weekly sessions, Alpha guests share meals, listen to a series of talks, and then have small group discussions. Each talk covers a fundamental question, such as: “Who is Jesus?” “Why and How Do I Pray?” and “Does God Heal Today?”
Registration information in the Atrium – or see Skip and Peggy Oates
We're doing it again.....FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY!! FPU is a 13-week life changing program on personal finance. It is designed to empower people to manage their money better, eliminate debt and build wealth. Wondering where your next paycheck is going? Don't understand stocks, bonds, mutual funds or how to invest for retirement or college funding? Do you feel like your money has control over you??
Classes start on Tuesday, September 26th, and run from 7:00pm-9:00pm.
What is FPU?
FPU is the most important step to changing your financial future. It is your Total Money Makeover Program. It takes the head knowledge from the books and the radio show and turns it into real action.
FPU is a 13-week, life-changing program that empowers and teaches you how to make the right money decisions to achieve your financial goals and experience a total money makeover.
Who is FPU for?
It's for EVERYONE from the financially secure to the financially distressed. Over 180,000 families and individuals have attended FPU at their workplace, church, military base, or community group.
On average these families have paid off over $5,300 in debt and saved $2,700 during this 91-day program!
Faith & Reason, a television series several years ago that featured the sermons of Dr. D. L. Dykes, who was active in the civil rights movement, is the basis for a six week course moderated by Jim Bridger on Thursday evenings, from 7:00 to 8:30. This class begins on September 14. During each session, there is a panel discussion of snippets from Dr. Dykes sermons with topics such as “What Made Jesus Jesus?” “The Bible: Fact or Fiction?” Was Jesus Really Raised from the Dead?” “Are There Dangerous Religious Doctrines?” If you like to think and talk about religious topics and you like to explore basic Christian ideas, this may be the class for you. An expanded description is in the box on the Adult Education section of the information kiosk.
