On Sunday, May 1, we will be completing and dedicating our 2005 Time and Talent Survey as part of worship. Please be thinking about which activities of the Church you might want to participate in for this 2005/6 program year. There will also be a place for comments you might wish to share.
Thanks.

Congregational Meeting – for the purpose of electing Elders and Deacons and to receive and dedicate Time and Talent Offerings. The meeting will be held following the second worship service on May 1.

CROP WALK - CCPC will participate in the annual Bowie CROP Walk sponsored by Church World Services. The walk takes place on May 1 (rain or shine). Everyone is invited to participate. If you cannot walk in the event on May 1, please help sponsor a youth from CCPC. Twenty-five per cent of the money collected in the CROP walk will be donated to the Bowie Food Pantry. After each church service through May 1, walkers will be in the atrium and Dodds Hall to receive your pledges and donations. For more information, call Frances Rocha.

CROP WALK: All participants in the CROP WALK are invited to share in a period of camaraderie and nourishment of body and soul after the second service May 1. We will share a lunch of chicken, chips, and dessert. We ask that you supply your own drink and any other food you may want to eat. At 1 pm, Frances Rocha will take your pledge envelopes and deliver them to St. Matthew's for registration of the participants. At 1:20 pm the entire group will march to St. Matthew's. The march will leave from St. Matthew's at 2 pm. Remember to dress as the weather dictates. The walk will take place sun, rain, snow, or whatever is delivered on that day. Each participant should have comfortable clothing, and a bottle of water for use on the walk. A donation of food to drop in barrels as you walk past CCPC would help with the symbolism of the walk – suggested items: peanut butter, jelly, cereal, juice, and powdered milk. Once again, thank you for participating and I hope you can join us for lunch.
(CROP Committee)
CROP Walk update: Eleven walkers from CCPC and three from Riverdale Presbyterian raised approximately $2,000 for the hungry. Caitlyn Sell secured $571 in donations herself. Hooray for Caitlyn! Thank you to all who contributed so generously. If you have not paid your pledge, please make a check to CWS/CROP and bring it to the church office.
Work Camp Special Offering – Session has authorized a special offering to be collected to raise the last $1000 needed to cover the food, lodging, program and transportation costs for the trip to West Virginia to help Almost Heaven Habitat for Humanity build homes for families in need. There are envelopes marked Work Camp available on the pedestals where the worship bulletins are usually kept as you walk into the Sanctuary. Please put your name/offering envelope number on the special envelope and include your contribution. So far we have collected about $500. Any money over and above the $1000 we receive will be donated to Habitat for Humanity. Thank you all so much for your support.
