In the Spotlight

An Evening at CCPC

This is the variety/talent show that always is very entertaining and unpredictable.   Several of the acts are top secret—you won’t know until you get there.  Last year we had a standing room only crowd in Dodds Hall. The show is Saturday night, March 13th starting at 7:30 PM.  It’s free with refreshments provided.  If you would like to make a donation, the money will go towards the Youth Group’s trip to Montreat this summer.

Living Waters for the World

Curious about the recent CCPC trip to Honduras? Join Tracy and John Backus and Marjorie and Chuck Tanner in Dodds Hall at 10:25-11:00 AM on Sunday, March 14 to learn about their experiences. (The second service will begin at 11:10.)

Discussion of Christianity for the Rest of Us

The Tiger Lilies are leading a discussion of Christianity for the Rest of UsHow the Neighborhood Church is Transforming the Faith by Diana Butler Bass through March 28 at 11 AM in the conference room. Butler examines fifty growing and thriving mainline churches.  We at CCPC can learn from the experiences of these churches, especially the ten that are the focus of the stories in this book.  What are they doing that is drawing people to them—how are they transforming Christianity? Books are available for $10 - stop by James' office or contact Andrea Brassard

But What about All the Contradictions in the Bible?

Mary Brock will be teaching a six week class on contradictions in the Bible starting on Sunday, March 14 at 9:30 AM in the conference room.

Description:  Critics complain that since there are so many contradictions in the Bible, it's impossible for a reasonable person to believe in God.  Still, many Christians maintain that the Bible is without error. Yet why are there two Creation stories? What about the different genealogies of Jesus? Which conquest account do we believe: Joshua or Judges? Are the various tools of interpretation mere attempts at justification for "their side" or do they offer sound logic?  Come prepared to think!
