General Assembly Commissioner
The General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), meets every other year in the summer for a week. The next meeting will be June 21-28, 2008 in San Jose, CA.
The National Capital Presbytery will be selecting commissioners to the General Assembly in the near future. The CCPC Session must nominate an applicant to the NCP. Nominations are due to NCP by September 30, so Session would need to consider any applications no later than its September 10 meeting. The selection process is competitive and some participation in NCP meetings in the recent past is preferred. If any elder of CCPC (whether currently on the Session or not) wishes to be considered as a commissioner, contact Jim Woods, Clerk of Session, soon.

Mission Council
The Mission Council received an inquiry from Christmas in April for nominations of persons who may be eligible for inclusion in its program.
If you are aware of anyone who cannot make extensive repair to his/her home because of financial or physical limitations, please contact Frances Rocha. As you walk about your neighborhood if you see a home in need of extensive repair, give the address to Frances and she will have the city check on ownership and other criteria. We don't want another eviction of a person in need as happened on Maycheck Lane.

Sunday Nights
6-7PM - Jr. High and 7:30-8:30PM - Sr. High
As many of you know - on Wednesday, August 1st, we made a sojourn from CCPC World Headquarters down the street to catch a matinee performance of "Beauty and the Beast." The play had a definite CCPC influence to it - Rhia Miller and Lizzie Jonas were both in the play and it was directed by Matt Thorpe. Led by that wild and crazy third row comprised of the Brassards and Astrid Jonas, the crowd was up and rocking a good 20 minutes before the curtain went up! And, as a special bonus, we got to take a picture with one of the cast members - none other than the beast himself! Oh, wait a minute, that's me. Oops! Never mind. James Rada
We had some GREAT turnout for our matinee performance of Beauty and the Beast, our overnight campout at the Dudleys, and for our Sunday night Youth Groups.
