PURPOSE
Bowie Therapeutic Nursery Center (BTNC) specializes in the diagnosis, education, treatment, and prevention of developmental and emotional difficulties in children from 2½ to 5 years of age.
BTNC is a licensed, private, non-profit, non-sectarian center which was founded in 1972, and serves Prince George’s County and the extended Bowie/Crofton area.
A multidisciplinary team addresses the total needs of the child (i.e. emotional, cognitive, social) and his/her relationship with the family.
The professional staff includes a clinical psychologist, psychiatrist, social worker, speech pathologist, master and assistant teacher/therapists, and a recreation therapist.DIRECTORS

Diagnosis and Assessment
Services include brief observations to extensive assessment.

Therapeutic School
School is in session Monday-Friday 9AM to 3:00 PM.

REFERRALS
A child can be referred to BTNC by parents, physicians, psychologists, social and health agencies and other schools.
Do you know a child 2½ to 5 years of age whose behaviors include:
- Hyperactivity
- Frequent tantrums
- Poor impulsive control
- Frequent aggression
- Short attention span
- Difficulty responding to correction
- Withdrawal
- Failure to socialize
- Difficulty in using appropriate language or expression
- Excessive fearfulness
- Has been dismissed from another setting
- Has a history of abuse
- Has a stressful family environment
- Has difficulty adjusting to separation or divorce
POLICIES
- Open Monday through Friday 8:45 AM to 3:00 PM.
- Fees are adjusted to family income
- No child will be denied admittance for reason of race, creed, religion, national origin or economic status.
